“Who Cares for the Aid Worker?” A lecture by Chamutal Afek Eitam

Have you ever wondered how it is to be an aid worker and what to expect if working in rough countries delivering humanitarian aid? What motivates people to become aid workers? Undeniably, having a chance to save someone’s life is an incredible feeling. However such responsibility leads to enormous stress and pressure. Numerous aid workers suffer from mental health issues. How can this problem be solved? In order to answer this question, the speaker for the lecture: Chamutal Afek Eitam will share her experience of managing emergency relief operations in Kosovo, Eritrea, Sri Lanka, Haiti. Moreover, she researches and acts as an international strategic consultant on topics in the areas of NGO assessment, learning, and organizational innovation. Today she is the Director of the Garrisson Institute International CBR program. CBR facilitates and promotes humanitarian sector staff and organization resilience and wellbeing.
