Lecture “The Relevance of Maritime Power” by Commodore Boelema-Robertus

This event, organized by SIB-Groningen & TEIMUN, is open and free for everybody and we will have drinks afterwards.

Commodore Kees Boelema-Robertus is Director of Naval Maintenance and Sustainment within the Royal Netherlands Navy. Drawing from his experience he will elaborate on how the navy works and how the Dutch cooperate within NATO and the UN. Lastly, some operational concepts will be explained with the example of the dispute in the South Chinese Sea, which is one of the five topics of the GRUNNMUN Conference. So, if you are interested in the navy and international cooperation or want to prepare yourself for the GRUNNMUN, come to this event at Peperstraat 19!

The European International Model United Nations (TEIMUN) is a foundation which organizes two MUN’s throughout they year where the workings of the UN, NATO and the EU are simulated. The first is the one-day GrunnMUN Conference for approximately 150 students in Groningen.The second is the seven-day TEIMUN Conference in The Hague, welcoming over 200 students from more than 70 different students in July.
