Sports and International Relations: The Case of Pacific Islanders Rugby players
Monday 14 June, 20:00 - 21:30
From Invictus to Rocky, from the Football World Championship to the Olympic Games, sports and Politics have been intertwined since the start. Can sports also represent a field which IR scholars can conduct research? To talk about this, we will be joined by Dr. John Hogan, long time rugby player and Lecturer at the University of Groningen. He will explain a bit the more general relationship between Sports and Politics, before talking more in depth about the research he is conducting about Rugby players from the Pacific Islands and their migration towards Northern Countries.
This lecture was organised by dispuut QUE and will take place on Zoom.
