Refugee Camps as Unintended Cities

02-11-2015 at 20:00 - 22:00

Free

On behalf of our Dispuut Metropolis we heartily invite you to join in the celebrations of our fifth aaniversary. We will kickstart the evening with a lecture by Dr. Bram Jansen, sociologist at Wageningen University, for a captivating lecture about the phenomenon of the refugee camp as unintended city. Jansen’s doctorate research centered around this subject, and he has spent the last ten years investigating conflict, humanitarian aid and refugees in Uganda, Kenya, Sudan and Somalia. He has recently shifted his focus towards urbanization in the new state of South Sudan. After the lecture there will be a Metropolis-themed party (dress code: black & white)!

See you there!
