Mancala, the SIB’s one and only Board Games Dispuut, presents the Board Games Lecture!

For this lecture, we’ll be visited by drs. Arjan van Houwelingen, who is intimately familiar with all stages of Game Development. He has created multiple games himself for famous game companies like 999 Games and MNKY Entertainment. One of his most recent projects is the GRUNN project, a game where you can design your own version of the province of Groningen. He also founded the Game-making Guild, where gamemakers can come together and test each others’ games. 

Moreover, he has an academic understanding of game-making. He teaches Creative Media & Game Technologies at the Hanze University and is a board member of SAGANET, the Dutch association for serious games. 

Tonight, drs. Van Houwelingen will talk about the development of board games and his experience in the field. You’ll have the opportunity to ask him any questions about the gaming industry you might have, and will even get to play some games, including the GRUNN game mentioned above.
