Amid international turmoil and domestic polarization, nearly 400 million citizens were called to vote for the European Parliament. This election raises several critical questions: What did citizens actually vote for? How does the EP compare to national parliaments? How should the results be interpreted? What does this mean for the composition of the EU party groups? What impact will the election have on the EU’s decision-making processes and policies in areas such as climate change, migration, and defense?
