A guide to becoming the next U.S. President by Antonia Leise
Monday 16 September, 20:00 - 22:00
With over 50 elections, affecting more than half of the world’s population, 2024 is truly the super election year. In this week’s lecture, journalist Antonia Leise will discuss one of the most heatedly debated and reported upon elections of 2024: the U.S. Presidential Election. But how does one actually become a U.S. President? In an election where many social media users have since asked themselves whether everyone can become president these days, Antonia is going to give a (humorous) introduction to the actual path to the presidency, alongside some useful tips of things to absolutely avoid during your presidential campaign (spoiler: it isn’t felony charges).
Antonia Leise is the international editor of Vox, the independent magazine at Radboud University. For Vox, she has extensively written about international topics, including elections. She is currently one of two hosts of the science journalism podcast In a Nutshell. Her column about the rise of and reaction to right-wing politics in Germany, The Nazis are back, received a Kringaward in 2024.
