Ambassador Marcin Czepelak: The EU: A view from Central Europe
24-09-2018 at 20:00 - 22:00
In may 2004, Polish voters overwhelmingly approved of starting the Polish European journey. Even after the Euro crisis, the migrant crisis, and the recent row between the European Commission and the Polish government over its judicial reforms, the EU still enjoys high approval rates in Poland. But after the Brexit and all these crises, the European Union is set on a course for change. What that change will be and how the EU will look after it, nobody knows. However, every member state has their own hopes and desires for the future of Europe, Poland being no exception. But what are these Polish hopes and desires? What is the current view of Poland on the EU and what does it see in its future?
To answer those questions and more, on 24 September, we will host Ambassador Marcin Czepelak of Poland. He is an expert in international law, his PhD dissertation winning the Prime Minister award for best PhD thesis. He has written award winning books on international civil law, law of treaties, and international agreements. He will talk about the position of Poland within the European Unon, and the Polish perspective on the future of Europe.
This event is free and open to everyone.
